Sathu Maavu
Its like enjoying a Spring Shower , when a kid eats!
Sathu maavu ! A word of hatred ! To most kids...
Few recipes that can be tried for its one of the bestfood to feed multi grain .
1. Sathu maavu kanji
Usually we add sugar, salt and milk to boiled sathu maavu kanji.
Instead, boil a little jaggery , strain and reboil and dilute a spoon of sathumaavu and while stirring add to strained
jaggery. Once it starts to swirl switch off stove and see to it looks a semi solid .
Leave it to the child to eat all by itself !
2. Sathumaavu halwa
Heat 1 tablespoon ghee and add 2 spoonful sathumaavu and keep stirring.
When it blends fully with ghee add sugar and stir well until it swirls and comes non sticky as halwa.
(Variation : Garnish with chopped mixed dryfruits )
3.Sathumaavu urundai
In a mixer add cashews almonds pista dry grapes dates
walnuts any dry fruit .
To it add sugar and "dry roasted" sathumaavu .
Grind to fine powder .
Add to a bowl and add 1 tablespoon ghee.

4. Sathumaavu paniyaram
Add 1 spoon of sathumaavu to 2 spoons of wheat .
Add boiled strained jaggery and chopped nuts .
Add a little ghee.
Grease paniyaram pan with little sesame oil ,pour and pick paniyarams!!
5. Sathumaavu dosai
Boil and mash kerala banana(nenthram pazham) .
To it , Add 1 spoon of wheat and 1 spoon of sathumaavu.
Add jaggery . Stir well . Heat a pan and pour dosas.
A good effort yields to watch kids' healthy intake . Enjoy cooking and healthy life !
