Cooking can be a passion, hobby, love, interest,or may be just to survive too but when it comes to kids, cooking becomes a virtue and it's the height of everything !
If it's a tough job in feeding your kids "Sundal" or any cereal... here you go, you can try these if they prefer basic food items over it !

1. #Karamani_Maravallikizhangu_Adai

Soak raw rice , idle rice with 1:1 ratio and to it add 1/2 channadhal , 1/4 urad dhal , a tablespoon of toor dhal, masoordhal, moong dhal. To it add handful of #Karamani. Let it sit for more than 4 hours.
Boil or steam #Maravallikizhangu . Cool and mash and keep aside. Heat a pan , to it add jeera, a red or greenchilly, a ginger slit , 2 curry leaves, hing.  When they splutter,  add mashed #Maravallikizhangu and add a little turmeric and saute well.
Now take a mixer jar. To it add soaked contents , Salt and sauted kizhangu. Grind coarsely.
Let it sit for a day or even you can pour instant Adai...
Yummy sweet and salty karamani rich adai ready !!!!


2. #Greengram_Beetroot_Paratha

Soak #greengram for 20 mins and pressure cook for about 8 to 10 whistles until they dissolve or mash completely.
Meanwhile peel a #beetroot and make juice of it.
To a bowl , add turmeric powder, cumin powder, hing, chili powder, salt and mashed greengram dhal and make a good solid mixture.
Take another bowl and knead chappathi dough with beetroot juice,Hing,salt.
Let this sit for 10 mins.
Now take a ball of dough and fill with greengram mixture and make Parathas !!!!
Goes good with curd !

#Variation:
Any vegetable/vegetable juice would in kneading dough.


3. #Chickpea_Ragi_Poori

      Same like parathas, pooris can be made with cereals .
Soak channa overnight and pressure cook to mash it down completely. While cooking add a pinch of turmeric powder, a drop of oil, hing and salt . Once cooked mash down completely or grind to paste.
Take a bowl and add wheat flour and Raagi 1: 3/4 and add the mashing channa . To it add a pinch of cumin powder and chilly powder. Knead to soft dough. Let it sit for 10 mins .
Make yummy pooris out of it !!!


4. #Rajma_Raddish_Patties

Soak #Rajma as required and pressure cook along with Raddish ,Salt and as usual to mash it down consistensy.
Take a bowl and add rice flour. To it add hing, turmeric powder, chilly powder and salt. Now add the #Rajma Raddish mixture and knead well . Add a spoon of oil to form smooth dough.
Now make small patties and roast on hot tava both sides. 
#Variation
Instead of Rice flour, you can add Raagi, kambu or any wholegrain flour.


5. #Mixed_Millet_Vaazhaipoo_Dosai 

#Millets are very rich in nutrients and when mixed , they give enormous health.
Soak 1:1 ratio of any millet or all .
Kambu, kezhvaragu, varagu,samai, thinai, kuthiraivaali,red rice, black rice of your choice or may be a Tablespoon of each.
Add 1/4 cup of raw rice and idle rice to it.
Add less than 1/4 channna dhal and a little lesser Urad dhal.
Soak everything together adding fenugreek  to it.
After 5 hours grind along with vaazhaipoo, ginger, redchilly, hing and salt.
Ferment about 4 to 5 hours or overnight and pour crispy dosas...

#Variation :
#Vaazhaipoo can be sauted like #Maravallikizhangu and added too before grinding.

A little bending down over kids requirement to satisfy their needs and fulfilling out parenting, to nourish them with healthy foods is not a compromise(with the food items on how they are to be made) but more than Satisfaction ! Happy Cooking !
